Hello from Maui, Hawaii!!! My name is Geraldine (Quesada) Albete. I am the founder/owner and Planner of GQ Maui Events, LLC. The name GQ is my maiden initials, which became a fun nickname I got when I started working in the hotel industry. I was born and raised in Lahaina, the West Side of the beautiful island of Maui. I was swept away by my amazing husband, Josh, and convinced this Lahaina girl to move to Upcountry, Maui, where we now raise our two beautiful rambunctious little girls. 

I started my career at a young age in the hospitality industry, working for the wonderful Royal Lahaina Resort in Kaanapali. In 2008, the Royal Lahaina Resort’s Food & Beverage Banquet Department had created an official Wedding Department. I was blessed with an opportunity to be a part of that team where I got to help establish and grow their successful department. Being with this department has helped me gain the experiences in so many aspects of banquets and events. Throughout my years working there, I had planned and executed over 1000 events of all sizes. It was the end of 2016 when I decided to leave the resort life for mommy life when I was blessed with my first daughter.  

I knew that leaving the resort, I’d miss all the fun and joy I had of planning weddings and events. After a few months of being mommy, I began planning weddings again for close family, friends and their referrals. They’ve seen how much I enjoyed planning again and encouraged me to start up my own event company. With much contemplation, I finally decided to take the big leap and begin the process of bringing GQ Maui Events to life. 

I believe that every wedding is unique in so many ways. I find pure joy just seeing a couples love for each other grow even more on their wedding day. I’m a hopeless romantic and I’ve always been a sucker for a good love story…It would be an honor to be a part of your story by creating your dream wedding and turning it into reality!
